I was born in 1994 in Paramaribo, Suriname, and I lived most of my childhood in Enschede, the Netherlands. When I was 8 years old I started playing the cello. After some experimenting with bass guitar it seemed a logical step to try the double bass, and I fell in love immediately. I started playing the double bass in 2012, and the same year I was accepted for the preliminary course at the HKU Conservatory in Utrecht, to study with Quirijn van Regteren Altena. From 2013 I followed the Bachelor of Music at the same institute, with the exception of spring 2016, when I studied in Göteborg, Sweden, as an Erasmus student with Jan Alm. 
From 2018 I studied with Matthew Midgley at Codarts in Rotterdam, where I graduated from the Master of Music in 2020, 

Since July 2019 I have the privilege to play on an instrument of the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation (NMF).
